FreshCognate is proud to partner with the National Tutoring Observatory (NTO), a groundbreaking collaborative and data-driven project that advances research and innovation in tutoring practices. Through this partnership, we contribute to creating the world's largest repository of video and transcript data about tutoring interactions and the invaluable work of educators.
Our work with the NTO brings new insights into the craft of teaching, advances the science of instruction, and provides critical data for technologists developing cutting-edge AI tools. As part of this shared research infrastructure, we help collect and analyze multimodal tutoring data to understand how one-on-one and small-group tutoring supports student learning.
Building on the NSF Mid-Scale Incubator award, which convened a national community of tutoring providers, educators, edtech developers, and researchers, FreshCognate extends the NTO's mission to address Theme 3: Technology and Tools of the NSF Dear Colleague Letter on Expanding K-12 AI Resources.
We refine, evaluate, and scale AI-driven infrastructure and tools that can be used by:
- Tutoring platforms seeking to enhance their effectiveness
- K-12 school districts looking to improve teaching and learning outcomes
- Educational organizations committed to advancing instruction across all subjects
Through our innovative approach to educational technology, FreshCognate helps researchers transform tutoring data into actionable insights that elevate educational experiences and outcomes for students nationwide.
